Research in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
The items below are by no means exhaustive. Articles are not reproduced in their entirety. If you want to learn more about acupuncture and a certain condition, but do not find it here, you can always go Resources, contact me or do an internet search. Much research can be found on www.AcupunctureToday.com.
Acupuncture is partially explained by the release of the natural endorphins it facilitates. Endorphins reduce feelings of stress, frustration, and anxiety, and promote relaxation. Endorphins also help balance digestive and endocrine functions to optimize metabolism. MRIs and CAT scans have shown acupuncture to have distinct effects on the brain.
